The New York Sirens have announced a major roster move, acquiring forward Taylor Girard from the Boston Fleet in exchange for forward Jill Saulnier. This marks the second trade of the 2024-25 Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) season and signals a strategic shift for both teams.

Girard was originally selected by Boston in the ninth round (51st overall) of the inaugural PWHL Draft and signed a two-year contract. During her time with the Fleet, she appeared in 28 games, tallying six points with four goals and two assists.

Girard’s hockey journey began in the NCAA, where she showcased her skills during three seasons at Lindenwood University and two at Quinnipiac University. Her standout performances earned her the honor of being the first overall pick in the 2021 NWHL/PHF Draft. She made her professional debut with the Connecticut Whale, where she quickly established herself as a force on the ice.
